Fernando Alonso fastest in FP1 Fernando Alonso got his race weekend off to the best possible start by setting the fastest time in the first free practice of the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, at Shanghai International Circuit. With that the Ferrari driver ended Mercedes' run which has seen them fastest in all sessions since FP1 in Melbourne.
