Hamilton 'relieved' to take pole after tense session

Lewis Hamilton says he is 'relieved' to take pole position for Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix after a tense and close qualifying session in challenging conditions. Torrential rain arrived 30 minutes prior to the start of Q1, meaning it was delayed by 50 minutes. When it eventually got underway, the circuit remained wet as drivers battled with low grip and poor visibility. However, Hamilton emerged from the spray to set the fastest time of the top 10 shoot-out to secure the 33rd pole position of his career. He has now equalled the British record set by Jim Clark.
