Track Guide: Sepang International Circuit

Having joined the Formula One calendar in 1999 as one of the sport’s first forays into Asia, the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang has stood the test of time. The circuit, designed by Hermann Tilke, poses quite a challenge to drivers due to its mixture of fast-flowing corners and hard stops. To win here, you need to have it all (or ignore team orders…). After getting on the power mid-way through the final corner, drivers power down the main straight and will max out eighth gear. The wide first corner allows for plenty of overtaking at the start of the race, feeding drivers into turn two.
