Pirelli bring 'winter' tyre compound to Jerez

Pirelli has developed a special on-off slick tyre compound specifically for the first winter test in Jerez, in order to 'minimise the effect of potentially low ambient temperatures' on track time. The Italian manufacturer also announced that the final test day on Friday will be dedicated to wet weather running, with the circuit being artificially-watered. However, if it rains on any of the previous test days, this will then be used to test the new intermediate and wet rubber. 'The Jerez test will be very interesting as we see the 2014 cars and engines on track for the first time and how they interact with our tyres,' said motorsport director Paul Hembery.
