Ward withdraws from FIA elections, Todt unopposed

David Ward has withdrawn his candidacy for next month's FIA elections, leaving current president Jean Todt unopposed to secure a second term in the position. Ward, who released his manifesto in September, did not receive sufficient support from member clubs. 'I am writing to confirm my withdrawal as a candidate in the 2013 FIA Presidential election,' Ward said in a statement. 'It has not proved possible for me to secure the required number of regional Vice Presidents for Sport to ensure the eligibility of my list. I, therefore, would like to offer my congratulations to Jean Todt who will secure a second term uncontested if unopposed.' Ward also criticised the flaws in the current system....
