Teams urged to 'limit' running

The debate about Pirelli tyres is set to rear its ugly head again after the company asked teams to limit their running in Sunday's Indian GP. The soft and medium rubber are being used for the race at the Buddh International Circuit, but the former has high levels of degredation after only a few laps. According to BBC Sport, the Italian manufacturer asked teams "not to use the soft tyre for more than 15 laps and the medium for no more than 35 laps" on safety grounds. The FIA, though, is "refusing to order the teams to follow the advice", but those who ignore the request from Pirelli could end up in trouble as they could be asked to appear before the stewards to explain...
