Kvyat backs Sauber protege Sirotkin

Red Bull junior star Daniil Kvyat has acted to defend Sauber protege Sergey Sirotkin, following criticism of his fellow Russian's anticipated Formula 1 promotion in 2014. Sirotkin, who is currently competing in Formula Renault 3.5, looks set to make the move to the top echelon next season, with his father, Oleg, heading up one of the companies involved in rescuing Sauber from its financial troubles earlier in the year. Although this has led to criticism from some of the sport's more established figures, Kvyat is confident that the 18-year-old will be able to give a good account of himself.
