Warwick: CCTV led to penalty

Derek Warwick has revealed that Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso would have escaped penalty for the incident at the end of the Singapore Grand Prix had it not been for CCTV footage showing the circumstances surrounding Alonso stopping to give the Red Bull man a lift.Webber was forced to retire on the final lap of the race and then hitched a lift back t the paddock with Alonso, in the same way Webber had carried the Spaniard back to parc ferme following the 2011 German Grand Prix.That in itself wouldn't have led to any penalties being handed down, but stewards – including BRDC president Warwick – were then made aware of CCTV footage which showed Alonso stopping on the racing line and...
