Vettel beats Rosberg to claim Singapore pole

Red Bull/Getty Images Sebastian Vettel secured the 41st pole position of his career during qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix. Vettel's time of 1:42.841 was set on his first run in Q3 and he opted out of a second run. This meant that Vettel watched the closing moments of the session from the Red Bull garage, alongside his mechanics. He watched as rivals set faster sector times but were unable to match him across the full lap. 'I'm very happy with the result, the car has been phenomenal all weekend,' he said.
