Vettel 'proud' to beat Ferrari at home

Sebastian Vettel described himself as "very proud" after comfortably outpacing Ferrari's Fernando Alonso to take his third Italian Grand Prix victory on Sunday. Having started from pole position, the Red Bull driver's only genuine threat came in the form of a developing gearbox problem in the closing stages of the race, but he had enough time in to coast home and ensure the extension of his championship lead. "The race was fantastic," explained Vettel, who was greeted by a wall of boos from the gathered Italian fans. "Clearly the public would rather see someone in red overalls win, but I had a good race and I'm proud that I was able to beat the red cars here."...
