Drivers threaten to boycott German GP

The tyre saga has taken a new twist with the Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) threatening to boycott the German GP if there is a repeat of the Silverstone blowouts. The issue of safety in Formula One is back in the headlines after four different drivers suffered left-rear tyre failures during Sunday's British Grand Prix. Although Pirelli has already confirmed that new Kevlar-belted tyres will be used at this weekend's race at Nurburgring, the GPDA has warned that they won't hesitate to withdraw from the race if there are similar problems.
