Hamilton: Silverstone pole feels incredible
Lewis Hamilton has described the feeling of achieving pole position at his home Grand Prix as 'incredible', with the Briton posting a sensational Q3 lap to outpace team-mate Nico Rosberg by over four tenths, as Mercedes locked out the front row. Going into the final qualifying phase, the battle for pole looked set to be between the Silver Arrows and the Red Bull duo of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel. However, following a trend set throughout the season, the superior one lap pace of the F1 W04 saw Rosberg and Hamilton trading purple sectors, with the 2007 World Champion eventually claiming the top spot on his final run in front of his home crowd.
