Force India extends lead over McLaren for fifth

Force India extended its lead over McLaren for fifth spot in the constructors’ championship to 14 points after the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday. While both the McLaren drivers finished outside the points in Montreal, the Force India duo gave their team seven points. Paul di Resta, who started 17th, finished seventh on a one-stop strategy with a very long stint on the medium tyres. Teammate Adrian Sutil, in contrast, was lucky to finish after a spin early in the race, after he attempted to overtake Williams’ Valtteri Bottas, did not result in any collision despite ending the wrong way in the middle of the track.
