Spar with Ecclestone forced Parr to quit

Adam Parr had resigned from his position as chairman of Williams not just because he wanted to “pursue a better balance in his life” but because he was cornered by Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. In his recently released graphic novel ‘The Art of War’, the 47-year-old indicated that Ecclestone was not in the best of terms with the Briton, tipped to be the successor of Frank Williams as team principal of the Grove-based outfit. Parr quit on 26 March, a day following the second round of the championship; the Malaysian Grand Prix, over a disagreement surrounding the terms of the new commercial agreement that would come into play from 2013 onwards.
