Red Bull Ring put forward as potential 2013 venue

Red Bull has been made the FIA aware that the Red Bull Ring in Austria (formally the A1-Ring) has the potential to play host to a grand prix next year. Next year's calendar has a space currently being held open for a "European" F1 race on July 21 after plans for a race in New Jersey were delayed. France was initially the favourite but a lack of funding has derailed talks, while Turkey's Istanbul Park is also under consideration. However, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko told Speed Week that the renovated Red Bull Ring, which last hosted a race in 2003 under the A1-Ring name, has been put forward as a potential venue.
