Rolex becomes official timekeeper

Rolex has been announced as the new official Formula One timekeeper from the 2013 season onwards. The deal announces the watchmaking brand as becoming a 'major long-term partner' in Formula One and as a result Rolex will provide the time in different locations during each grand prix weekend. The announcement adds that 'the Rolex logo will also be positioned around the circuit and at several corners during Formula One races. Rolex's presence in Formula One is due to develop over the coming seasons'. Bernie Ecclestone said Rolex's history of involvement with motor sport made it the perfect partner for Formula One.
